Workhorse Wins National IPA Competition

March 21, 2009 1 comment

Our very own Workhorse IPA beat out 63 other IPAs to win the Second Annual National IPA Competition put on by the folks at Great Lakes Brewing News. We had loads of fun watching the whole thing go down. There were lots of great IPAs involved and we're proud to have won.

Beers were judged by brewers in blind tasting panels in showdown form- ie. Two beers head to head- the best beer advances.

Thanks to everyone who cheered us on. Hope to see you at the pub for a celebratory pint of Workhorse!

Cheers,

Chad

Space Stout on Nitro

Just in time for St. Patrick's Day: Nitro Space Stout on tap at 51st. A lot of you have asked if we ever pour beers on nitrogen. Well, now we can say yes. We haven't poured a nitro stout for years- but having tasted this super smooth dark creation, that may change.

New Beer at Pizza Co.-

We've got new hours at Pizza Co. Now we've got a new beer:

Saaz Single Hop Red
Another in our series of beers brewed with just one hop variety. This time we've looked to one of the greatest brewing countries and selected the Czech Saaz hop. Saaz hops are known for their spicy, herbal quality. Typically used in lagers, we've found they make great ales too.
15 OG, 35 IBUS, 6.4% ABV
