After nearly ten years of great memories and beer it is time to say goodbye!
For many of us the original Laurelwood Public House and Brewery on NE 40th and Sandy Blvd was our first Laurelwood home. We opened in March of 2001 and in 2007 when we took the main production facility and pub up the street, the 40th location became Laurelwood Pizza Company. We have had a great run with so many great memories and great beers! We feel so fortunate that we have made so many friends and literally watch many of our employees and customers children grow up. For nearly ten years you have helped us make Laurelwood a staple in not only the Hollywood District but also all of Portland and we want to say thank you. So this Monday, July 5th from 5pm-10pm we want to invite all of you to come out and raise one last pint of beer with us in memory and in honor of all the great times we had at our original brewery! Thank you all for so many great years!
Cheers!

I’m going to miss this place. I think it helped Portlanders, and maybe even Americans at large realize that pub culture is supposed to include family. Admittedly, I didn’t always appreciate this, but the vibe, the aesthetics, the food, and of course, the wonderful beer have kept me coming back since 2001.

Very disappointing, I need two things then. Please send the recipe of the vegan pizza w/eggplant and the 40th street Amber to the Battle Ground Location. Two things necessary for a happy life.

Stopped by today – July 7 – for a tall cold one on the first day I could legitimately complain about the heat this year and found the place shuttered!
Whoever is taking over the space has a note posted about fiddling with the kitchen, so I gather there will be a third brewpub at the site in the near future. But some of us drinkers prefer to live in the past and the last crew serving there were the best the Laurelwood “empire” has assembled. I miss them already and hope to find them pushing a pint at me wherever we both may land.

We are very very disappointed. Regulars from the hood.

Thanks everyone for the comments. Please rest assured that you will find Laurelwood Pizza Co in a neighborhood near you (in Portland that is) in 2011 or 2012!
