On August 27th 2010, Brewmaster Chad Kennedy and the Laurelwood brewing team brewed their 1000 batch of beer at the 51st and Sandy brewery. We moved into our current brewery in March of 2007 and our first batch of beer was brewed on March 4th. In celebration of this momentous 1000th brew, Chad decided to bring back an old favorite. Piston Pale was on our original line up and was semi-retired in 2007. Chad will be tapping Piston at all Laurelwood locations this Friday Sept 3rd. Come in for a pint and raise a glass to batch number 1000!

P.S. Just incase you are interested our first batch here was Organic Free Range Red.

Lets keep Oregon Craft Beer Month rolling with our next event. On Wednesday July 7th at Laurelwood NW Public House we wil be tapping a firkin of Old Reliable Barley wine and doing a cheese pairing. Brewmaster Chad Kennedy will be tapping the firkin at 6pm. See you then!

It’s A Firkin Cheese Pairing

 -MOTHER LODE GOLDEN ALE-

Our lightest ale is crisp, dry, and refreshing.

-Cypress Grove Truffle Tremor-

Goats Milk- The classic flavor of truffle meets the velvety perfection of ripened goat milk
cheese. Earthy, elegant, and sophisticated, it’s sure to make even the
most distinguished taste buds shake!

-HOOLIGAN BROWN ALE-

Hooligan Ale features imported Marris Otter malt which makes this beer super smooth and easy drinking. Slightly sweet, with just a hint of hops, this beer was brewed in the Southern English tradition with an American twist.

-Manchego Semi Curado-

Sheeps Milk- At 3 months old, this is the
youngest Manchego made by the Villadiego estate. The color of the
paste is light – the taste is buttery and delicate with hints of waxy spiciness.

-ORGANIC FREE RANGE RED-

Free Range Red is a rich copper-colored ale with loads of fresh hop flavor. Medium in body the caramel sweetness blends wonderfully with the smooth hop flavor creating a balanced, super drinkable beer. This beer is brewed with 100% Organically-grown malts

-Tillamook Vintage Cheddar –

Cows Milk- Vintage White Medium
Cheddar Cheese is aged over 100 days and features a distinct velvety
fuller cheddar flavor that pairs especially well with fruit and wine.

-ORGANIC TREE HUGGER PORTER-

-Tree Hugger Porter features a rich chocolate malt flavor that finishes dry and roasty. Delicate hop flavor rounds out this rich full-bodied ale. This beer is brewed with 100% Organically-grown malt.

-Beechers Flagship-

Flagship is a semi-hard cow’s milk cheese

with a uniquely robust, nutty flavor. It is carefully aged for one year.

-PRO ROW PALE ALE-

A collaboration by the brewers from Laurelwood, Double Mountain and Walking Man. Chad, Matt and Jacob got together to brew this deliciously quaffable beer in honor of Produce Row’s reopening- one of Portland’s oldest good beer bars. This refreshing pale ale brings together some of the brewers favorite ingredients in great summer beer.

-Red Hawk Triple Cream-

Cows Milk- Cowgirl Creamery captures the essence
of West Marin with its Red Hawk, a triple-cream, washed-rind,
fully-flavored cheese made from organic cow milk from the Straus
Family Dairy. Aged four weeks and washed with a brine solution that
tints the rind a sunset red-orange.

-OLD RELIABLE BARLEY WINE (FIRKIN)-

This strong, deeply complex beer is truly for the connoisseur. Olde Reliable gets its rich color and flavor from loads of Pacific Northwest malt and an especially long boil. A dose of brown sugar in the boil add to the unique character of this ale.

-Rogue Oregon Blue-

Aged at least 90 days in our
Roquefort modeled caves, its semi-soft texture is smooth and its
flavor subtle. Richly hued blue-green veins randomly highlight the wheel.Pairs
nicely with figs, red silk pears, fresh spinach, Viognier wine,
rustic peasant bread and coffee.
