Richard (Head Chef)
I got started in the industry at 10 years when my father had a hamburger store and I worked there when I was a kid. After working for my father, I decided that the food industry was what I wanted to do so as a senior in high school I started washing dishes at a hotel and have been in the industry ever since. I’ve been with Laurelwood since 2013 and I love it! My favorite part of my position is the creativity and being a part of an awesome staff.
Amber (General Manager)
I got my first start in the service industry at age seven while helping my Grandma Alice decorate wedding cakes. I knew then that making people happy with food was my life's path. From there I have worked nearly every conceivable position in the restaurant industry from dishwasher to manager. I have been with Laurelwood Brew Pub for a year. I started at our Southeast location as a floor manager and transferred to our Northeast location in August as General Manager. Making people happy through good food, service, and drinks is my favorite part of my position. Sharing other people's happiness and experiences is the ultimate joy.
Justin (Kitchen Manager)
I got my start in the restaurant business when I was 16 years old. I was making tortilla dough from scratch; pressing and cooking what felt like a thousand tortillas a day for a little restaurant in eastern Oregon. Once I got the itch for scratch cooking I never turned back. After high school, I went on to study at Oregon Culinary Institute. I have worked in the industry for 11 years now and the last four and a half of them have been spent at Laurelwood. My favorite part of my position is that I get to spend every day with the crew that we have here at Laurelwood. I've always been a misfit but long ago I found a home in kitchens and never left, the atmosphere is exactly what I need to thrive.
